My life so far has been an adventure, and it continues to be so as I meet extraordinary people going about their messy, fascinating lives.
I started on stage as a professional dancer, enjoyed many years in the high-speed world of technology marketing, and then dedicated seventeen years to education and school leadership.
What have I learned? Great stories matter because they can change how you feel, and everyone has a story worth telling. It’s more than just a narrative, it’s about life, which is why I’ve tried to sum up what I do with the label Life Narratives®.
I knew instinctively that being a celebrant, with a particular focus on end-of-life celebrations, alongside being a leadership coach are profoundly connected. Once you’ve grasped that our time on earth is limited, the decisions you make as a leader come into much shaper focus. You start to see what really matters.
We all know it’s about people, not money or targets or possessions, yet that’s hard to live in all the noise.
Giving people an ear, supporting them in their moment of distress or uncertainty, helping them make sense of their story and holding them as they find a way forward is an amazing thing to do. And I’m good at it.
I am also an associate of the board review consultancy, Bvalco. And when I’m not helping other people, I enjoy cycling, photography, writing, our allotment and cooking.
I am married to fabulous Dawn, who works in the technology sector, and we are the servants to a shouty Airedale Terrier.
